Inspired by the artist’s novel, “Porphyra in Purple” the painting depicts the Gathering of Souls at the shores of the Forgetful River where they all meet for a joyful gathering. Thousands of souls rush to reach their preordained destination while amongst them, dreamers with silver cords intact, simply float not ready to join them for that ultimate journey - as yet! Assisted by angelic life forms that descend upon them in their thousands, they gladly drink the black river water and instantly forget their past. Merrily, they are now ready for a new life and souls are spanned and blasted across the Universe to live a life of their own choosing… Andreas C Chrysafis
