Τhe Merry Widow Met: Live in HD

A window to the world of opera with great operas performed at the Metropolitan Opera of New York – now through a live link in Pafos.
The MET presents an exuberant newly staged classic favorite of the public, the Lehár operetta directed and choreographed by the Tony Award winner, Susan Stroman. The Merry Widow, in a new translation by Jeremy Sams that includes many well-known songs, such as “Vilja”, the “You'll Find Me At Maxim's” and “The Merry Widow Waltz”. Starring: Renée Fleming, Nathan Gunn, Alek Shrader, Thomas Allen, Kelli O'Hara, etc.
Conductor: Andrew Davis.
A collaboration of Pafos2017, K-Cineplex Cinemas and ANT1 Greece and Cyprus.
Entrance: €18 and €13.

Musical Clock - yesterday and today
 

An important representative and collaborator of the Open Air Factory, the Cyprus Symphony Orchestra in the role of a world traveller combines music from the past and the present in a programme that unites works from yesterday and today by N. Trullo, B Martinu and J. Haydn.
Conductor: Plamen Djouroff.
Soloists: Yuri Zhislin (viola).
€12 and €7 (18-26 years old and pensioners) / free for children under 18.

The Hoffmann Tales Met: Live in HD
 

A window to the world of opera through a direct link with Pafos2017 and the Metropolitan Opera of New York.
This work, directed by award-winning director Bartlett Sher, that vindicated composer Jacques Offenbach and gave him everlasting fame without him living to see a production of his work. Vittorio Grigolo stars as the poet Hoffmann. The four roles of heroines of the lyrical work - the mechanical doll Olympia, the consumptive artist Antonia, Juliet and the egocentric actress Stella are all played by Hibla Gerzmava. The role of the muse and Nicklaus is once again played by Kate Lindsay. Thomas Hampson as the Evil Four, adds another role to his already impressive MET repertoire.
